Man taken into custody after driving van into security gate outside White House, authorities say

A man was taken into custody after driving his van into a temporary security barrier outside the White House early Wednesday morning. The Secret Service arrested him immediately; investigators interviewed him, and criminal charges were pending. A bomb squad checked the vehicle and found it safe.
