For second day, crews work to extinguish burning barge on the Delaware River

Over 20 hours after the fire started, firefighters were still battling flames on a scrap‑metal barge on the Delaware River. The blaze began before noon Tuesday near Reedy Island, New Castle County, and by early Wednesday the barge had drifted to Kent County waters. Officials warned the fire could burn for several more days.
